Weatherization
What is Weatherization?
Weatherization is a process of making homes more energy efficient through means of diagnostic testing. We use the whole-house approach, incorporating advanced technologies and addressing the comprehensive energy usage in low-income homes, as well as related health and safety improvements. This testing will help determine if your home has the required amount of insulation, air sealing and if your furnace and water heater are operating properly. If testing indicated that your furnace is not working properly and cannot be repaired, a new furnace may be installed at no expense to you
(we require a 50/50 split with landlord on rental units).
Our goal through this program is to reduce the energy costs for household by making energy-saving improvements to the home. No two homes are alike; we treat each home individually. All data is gathered by our trained auditors and then entered into the Department of Energy computer software program. This will determine all cost effective measures we can perform on the home.
Weatherization is a grant. A lien will not be placed on your home. Funding is limited, so call and get yourself added to the waiting list today!
