EPIC Plan (Eliminating Poverty by Involving Community) Imagine a poverty-free community. Imagine living in a place where no child grows up poor or hungry or living in unsafe conditions. Imagine that very individual and every family is valued, respected, and living in an atmosphere of hope.  Imagine vibrant communities where no one is left to struggle alone.  Wouldn’t you want to live in such a place? Western Community Action has dedicated itself to working toward this future.  Our EPIC Plan lays out five high-impact strategies that are transforming our agency, the programs we run, and the lives and communities of those we serve.  We are energized by the possibilities and excited to share this plan. Strategy I.  Basic Needs Strategy:  Inspire, educate, and engage communities to develop innovative plans that build partnerships and resources guaranteeing everyone’s basic needs are met. Strategy II.  Leadership Strategy:  Develop a critical mass of leaders inspired to end poverty. Strategy III.  Supportive Communities Strategy:  Build and maintain supportive relationships across socio-economic, race, and cultural lines to end poverty. Strategy IV.  Child Development Strategy:  Build and maintain community capacity so every child grows up prepared to reach their full potential. Strategy V.  Agency Strategy:  Become an inspiring and innovative agency focused on high impact strategies leading the community in eliminating poverty.
