Ways You Can Help Big Buddies of WCA, Inc.

We’d love to have your help! Besides becoming a Big Buddy, there are many ways you can volunteer to help the Big Buddies program. Perhaps you have interests, hobbies, or ideas that you would like to put into action. If you read this list and some of these opportunities sound fun, please get in touch with us. You are NOT OBLIGATED to anything. We will just let you know when a need in the area of your interest comes up.

Publicity

____ Create posters promoting Big Buddies (Big Buddies can make them with their Little Buddies)

____ Create bulletin boards that publicize the program

____ Help design flyers about the program to hand out to interested people

____ Help with recruitment of more Big Buddies

____ Help create a publicity video about the program

____ Take photos/keep a scrapbook of activities associated with the program

____ Submit items/articles for the Big Buddies newsletter

____ Sit at a table with program information at the mall, store, or other public place

____ Help with events like Crazy Days, Duck Dayz, parades, etc.

____ Put up posters/brochures about Big Buddies in towns around the county

____ Keep an eye on my local paper/clip articles about Big Buddies

Public Speaking

____ Big/Little Buddies speak about experiences in the program to interested groups or organizations

____Record Public Service Announcements for the radio

Activities

____ Come up with an activity for the group (share your hobby, sport, artistic ability, etc.)

____ Help at an activity (set up, clean up, etc.)

____ Get your organization to sponsor an activity (residence hall, club/organization, business, etc.)

Community Service Projects

Wildflower Hill at Independence Park, Marshall

____ Help plant bulbs/flowers (Fall Make a Difference Day)

____ Help with springtime maintenance at the hill

Adopt-a-highway

____ Help on the day of clean-up

____ Drive a support vehicle for the clean-up

____ Get a team together and raise money from friends/family
